Long before it was fashionable, I started a life-long love affair with a wonderfully crisp and fruity pink wine called rosé. Especially good on a hot summer’s day, or for an alfresco evening gathering, rosé has now found favour with wine lovers all over New Zealand.

The Annah Stretton Wine Story
In fact, it was in seeing how many of our gorgeous Annah Stretton customers shared my love for rosé during the 2021 COVID lockdown that I decided to explore the idea of launching an Annah Stretton Rosé.
With a friend of mine (Caro) relocating to one of New Zealand’s most prolific wine-growing regions, Marlborough, it didn’t take too long for a plan to start to form, and a partnership to be forged with the wonderful Vintner Eve Pemper.
Eva Pemper has been the perfect find for us. An experienced Vintner, Eva has not long launched heraward-winning label Eva Pemper wines. Meet Eva
Wine is in Eva’s blood. She comes from a talented and passionate family of winemakers. In fact, it was her parent’s dedication and love for crafting wine that provided all the inspiration she needed to start her own journey into the world of winemaking.
About Eva Pemper
Originally from Croatia, Eva came to New Zealand in 2012 following her dream to travel, meet people and make wine around the world. She absolutely fell in love with New Zealand: our wines, our people and our land.
Eva holds a master’s degree in winemaking from Agriculture University in Zagreb, Croatia and a Graduate Diploma in Oenology from EIT, Hawke’s Bay. This has given her a deep understanding of winemaking practices from very different parts of the world that she draws on every day in her own winemaking.
Eva worked across a number of well-respected Marlborough wine brands before following her dream and starting Eva Pemper Wines with her partner in 2019.

As a winemaker Eva’s vision is to allow the grapes and the vineyards to speak for themselves; intervening as little as possible while crafting a delicious drop that represents a certain place in time.
Eva’s winemaking style is very simple: she focuses on making approachable wines that are easy to drink, can be enjoyed on any occasion, and deliver a delicious, fresh and elegant sensation to the taste buds.
Eva's dream is to showcase the best of each wine region in New Zealand. This could include wines like Central Otago Pinot Noir or Hawke’s Bay Syrah. Eva is also particularly passionate and intrigued by the world of sparkling wine and hopes one to introduce a beautiful bubbly in to the “Eva Pemper” brand. So do we! Eva Pemper’s wine portfolio currently consists of a Single Vineyard Chardonnay, Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and a Rosé.
